Marcy Gregg is an artist, author, and speaker in Charlotte, North Carolina where she resides with her husband Dev of 44 years. After graduating from SMU with a degree in Studio Art, Marcy and Dev married, and shortly thereafter relocated from Dallas to Charlotte. During the birth of their third child, Marcy contracted pneumococcal bacterial meningitis, leaving her in a serious coma. Overcoming incredible odds, Marcy regained consciousness but lost much of her life’s memories, including married life with Dev and their three kids.

 

Faced with the daunting task of rebuilding her identity, Marcy slowly put the pieces of her life back together, even starting her own consulting business. However, she found that her gratitude to God for being given a second chance at life did not find expression in the confines of the corporate world, but rather in front of a canvas.

 

Since picking up a paint brush again in 2008, Marcy has dedicated each painting to sending out the Word of God, including Scripture as the underpainting. Focusing primarily on large scale abstracts, Marcy’s paintings are currently represented in several galleries across the country as well as in numerous private and corporate collections.

 

When not in the studio, Marcy can be found studying Scripture in preparation for leading women’s retreats, teaching Bible studies and speaking to groups on various stages. Her memoir, Blank Canvas, published in 2022, is deeper look into her life and God’s incredible faithfulness through the trials, trauma, and sacredness of second chances.
